I'll keep a static version of the blog up at least through 2008.

So that I would not have to monitor for spam, I turned off comments.

If you need to contact me but you don't have one of my email addresses, send me a note through the <a href="http://www.maxambit.com/blog/contact/" rel="nofollow">contact form</a>.

I hear and understand, Ed. I am really, really glad I got the chance to know you through this blog. I've battled the addiction myself, blogging's a strange siren. The tumblelog's my best compromise, merely an online scrapbook, really.

Glad you'll still be around in the comment pits, tho I'll miss this one in particular for the level of discourse. I would hope that even if you no longer blog that you keep this site up as a reference point for those who might meet you in the pits. There's great wisdom, advice and ideas to ponder here, much I intended to revisit (the Mike vs Mike debate alone is worth keeping up for posterity). It'd be a shame if it were to dissolve into the ether.

Keep us up to date on your various realspace missions, Ed. You will be sorely missed.

You could always consider ratcheting down the extremely high level of literacy and expository effort and maintaining a more "stream of consciousness" web log...., just a thought.

<i>"If you’re a middle-class or upper-class African American, you are probably one of the world’s top 10% wealthiest, most powerful, or most prestigious peoples of color."</i>

Maybe. What is true is that wealth (or the appearance thereof) is not synonymous with virtue, or excellent moral character. Although I do see how Mann's exhortation could be interpreted as an appeal to elites for noblesse oblige.

The converse of wealth's irrelevance to virtue is poverty's impertinence to sin/corruption. This explains why Cosby's rant, while well-intended and genuinely felt, worsened the class schisms and neuroses among Af-Ams.

For the record....
----------------------------

Craig Nulan:

What I refuse to do is comply with your terms and your terminology. That you run around like an obsessed chicken with its head cut off, clumsily trying to compel me to do otherwise is emblematic of your debilitated mental state.

A dyadics' absolute denial that anything they don't already "know" is the case exactly matches the dopamine self-addicts' fear of novelty. Your refusal to recognise problems, let alone address them, exactly matches the dopamine self-addicts' disinterest in anything but their rituals. Dyadic contempt for empirical evidence exactly matches the self-addicts' dopamine induced self-confidence.

Typical crackhead ish....,
.

Michael Fisher:

cnulan...

"What I refuse to do is comply with your terms and your terminology."

Huh?

The following is my terminology?

"White supremacy is an extreme syndrome within the more encompassing pathology of dopamine hegemony…, at the end of the day, it’s dopaminergic culture and the dominance of dopaminergic psychology that must be overturned, or else we will all perish and that white racism is the result of the cognitive error of identifying ethnic groups as separate species."

And the following terms were not used in the text cited here?

"(1) White

(2) Supremacy

(3) White Supremacy

(4) Syndrome

(5) Pathology

(6) Dopamine

(7) Dopamine Hegemony

( dopamineric

(9) Hegemony

(10) Culture

(11) Dominance

(12) Psychology

(13) Ethnic

(14) Group

(15) Species

(16) Race

(17) Racism

Craig. Seriously. Did something fall on your head?
